New 'Manual Scoring' table option for Cribbage Posted by webmaster (moderator) Apr 5 2006 3:47PM Tomorrow morning (Apr 6, 2006 approximately 4 AM EDT), we are introducing a new 'Manual Scoring' table option for Cribbage. The rules and description for Manual Scoring option is on site in the Rules section. Here are some extracts: With 'Manual Scoring' table option selected, both players are forced to count their hands -- both during play and during show-of-cards * If you undercount your points -- it's your loss -- you will only get the points corresponding to your manual count. The board will show your 'Undercounted points' alongside with computer-scored points. * If you overcount your points -- the server will catch the error and the extra points will be added to your opponent's score. The board will show your 'Overcounted points' alongside with computer-scored points. In the example below, a player just put an Ace of Hearts on the table earning 2 points (not shown). Instructions in red call for this player to select his points from the drop-down box and press the 'score' button. Note: (1) When entering your score, you don't have to add 1 pt for last card in the drop-down box -- it will be auto-added for you. For example, if you just scored one 31 pts combination, just put 2pts (for 31). If you scored 31 by adding a pair -- make it 4 pts in the drop-down box (2 pts for the pair and 2 pts for 31). If in the latter case you forget about the pair and just score 2 pts for 31, then you'll undercount 2 points, so your total score will be 2 pts lower. (2) Initial 'for his heels' points will be auto-added (3) During the show-of-cards, the dealer has 2 separate drop-down boxes to put the score in - for the crib and for the hand undercount Posted by rmcusnret (VIP) Apr 5 2006 6:05PM I suggest that if you undercount, the opponent should get points U undercounted along with your loss of points you undercounted----why not an option for stink hole by opponents---If both players opt to play that method, U must peg out? of stink hole rmcusnret WTG WEB Posted by Gr8 (TD) Apr 5 2006 6:19PM I LOVE HOSTING IT AND PLAYING IT YOU ALL HAVE FUN I agree with rmcusnret Posted by magik_rain (VIP) Apr 6 2006 9:05AM We should be able to get undercut opponent points. Maybe you can come up with and "agree button". Where both players have to agree on opponents points. If opposing player does not agree, that player rescores opponent hand and get the undercut points 'Manual Scoring' option is on site now Posted by webmaster (moderator) Apr 6 2006 9:44AM As we have just introduced the new 'Manual Scoring' option for cribbage, we have found some issues with it that are being currently fixed. Please send any issues regarding Manual Scoring via Contact-Us (rather than this forum) Undercounted Points Posted by mundunugu Apr 6 2006 1:18PM The taking of undercounted points by an opponent is called "Muggins" and is NOT generally used. I strongly feel that muggins should NOT be used here. Wiske Per ACC Rules... Posted by webmaster (moderator) Apr 6 2006 3:01PM Per ACC (American Cribbage Congress) rules: (1) undercounted points do not get added to your opponent's points -- the player who made a mistake already suffered enough (2) Any overcounted points will get added to your opponent -- a player only gets the points corresponding to the maximum of the correct count PLEASE READ, 121 MANAUL SCORE Posted by Gr8 (TD) Apr 17 2006 8:28PM PLEASE READ ,IT WILL GET EASIER FOR YOU TO PLAY NOTE TO ALL ,IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TABLE PLEASE CALL ME TO YOUR TABLE ,THIS IS A NEW PROGRAM AND YOU NEVER KNOW WE MIGHT HAVE TO WORK A FEW BUGS OUT YET OK GR8 TD American Cribbage Congress Posted by beejaysus (VIP) Apr 19 2006 7:10PM With all respect, there are now many other countries playing here, so why not use the British Cribbage Rules or Canadian or Russian etc etc American Cribbage Congress Posted by jaded_heart (VIP) Apr 19 2006 8:32PM I would assume, because the company is based in America and to have to use 56 different countries rules would confuse players and tax Game Colony's resourses Thank You Posted by t_n_t_plays (VIP) Apr 22 2006 6:01PM Wow, I love it! I was getting a little lazy having the computer count for me :), lol. It keeps you on your toes, so to speak. Also, to any country, including the USA; that we happen to be playing on Game Colonies site (by choice, I might add). Therefore with so many different countries/rules, they have actually gone out of their way to continue to bring us different types of cribbage games. Seems in time they might even get to them all :). Game Colony you rock! Thank you again for the many many different games and way to play them. Oh yeah, by the way, Keep on Cribbin, My Fellow Cribbers. Peace TNT Don't take me the...... Posted by beejaysus (VIP) Apr 24 2006 7:18PM ...... the wrong way. Whilst I appreciate all that GC has done, it has opened itself to the world and other rules should be adhered to. 5 card is now an accepted game. GC is a very good platform, lets all talk and not bicker. As other have said GC rocks American Cribbage Congress & Manual counting Posted by netview85 May 16 2006 9:53PM The ACC is a standard by which players from many countries use, is it not just for Americans. Suggest to Game Colony, program in the manual counting so keyboard can be the input, not just point and click, less mistakes can be made. 5- Card Posted by Moojus (VIP) May 18 2006 5:00PM Game Colony supports 5 card crib; I believe the Game Colony implementation follows the rules as provided to my by the Salisbury League (GB. |
