New 'Manual Scoring' table option for Cribbage Posted by webmaster (moderator) Apr 5 2006 3:47PM Tomorrow morning (Apr 6, 2006 approximately 4 AM EDT), we are introducing a new 'Manual Scoring' table option for Cribbage. The rules and description for Manual Scoring option is on site in the Rules section. Here are some extracts: <B>With 'Manual Scoring' table option selected, both players are forced to count their hands -- both during play and during show-of-cards</B> * If you undercount your points -- it's your loss -- you will only get the points corresponding to your manual count. The board will show your 'Undercounted points' alongside with computer-scored points. * If you overcount your points -- the server will catch the error and the extra points will be added to your opponent's score. The board will show your 'Overcounted points' alongside with computer-scored points. In the example below, a player just put an Ace of Hearts on the table earning 2 points (not shown). Instructions in red call for this player to select his points from the drop-down box and press the 'score' button. <img src=/images/crib_manual.gif></img> <B>Note:</B> (1) When entering your score, you don't have to add 1 pt for last card in the drop-down box -- it will be auto-added for you. For example, if you just scored one 31 pts combination, just put 2pts (for 31). If you scored 31 by adding a pair -- make it 4 pts in the drop-down box (2 pts for the pair and 2 pts for 31). If in the latter case you forget about the pair and just score 2 pts for 31, then you'll undercount 2 points, so your total score will be 2 pts lower. Maybe you can come up with and "agree button". Where both players have to agree on opponents points. I was getting a little lazy having the computer count for me :), lol. It keeps you on your toes, so to speak. Also, to any country, including the USA; that we happen to be playing on Game Colonies site (by choice, I might add). Therefore with so many different countries/rules, they have actually gone out of their way to continue to bring us different types of cribbage games. Seems in time they might even get to them all :). Whilst I appreciate all that GC has done, it has opened itself to the world and other rules should be adhered to. 5 card is now an accepted game. GC is a very good platform, lets all talk and not bicker. As other have said GC rocks American Cribbage Congress & Manual counting Posted by netview85 May 16 2006 9:53PM The ACC is a standard by which players from many countries use, is it not just for Americans.
