I'd like to suggest a 3-player cribbage option. In this version, each player is dealt 5 cards, each puts one in crib, and crib is dealt a fourth card from the deck. It's a nice way for a few friends to play at the same time, and since there are no partners, there's no worry of collusion. Just a thought, I think it would be lots of fun.

Thanks for the suggestion. Although with your suggested version there are no partners per se, there can still be collusion when more than 2 players will play. ----- ANNOUNCEMENT A new cribbage game option is coming within 2 days. It will NOT be a new game version -- it will apply to any existing cribbage version. This cribbage option was originally suggested by Moojus about 3 months ago. We expect that this new cribbage option will be of especial interest to experienced players. Note: So far there was no description of what the option was all about. Any guesses?

Nope, something quite different...

No -- we're still anti-skunk here. This is a very different option. Here's a hint -- think of what's different between over-the-board play and online play. What would make online play more like over-the-board play?

when playing a second game aganist the same opponet the dealer is picked randomly

No, sorry, the option is not about picking dealers -- it changes the whole game...

Sorry, the new cribbage option will not be about picking the dealer for the 2nd game -- it will change the dynamics of the whole game ... Another hint, then: If you are an experienced player who plays over-the-board games, do you really need the computer to count the combinations for you? And if you are good at counting, what if you make a mistake (undercount or overcount)?

wpould have that it was obvious we have to count our own hands

It's a ... Manual Count option

So far in online cribbage play a computer counts for you & you are not forced to count. In over-the-board cribbage tournaments (such as while playing in ACC tournaments), you will count & announce your card combinations. If you undercount -- it's your loss. If you overcount (and opponent catches it), extra points will be added to your opponent's score. The upcoming 'Manual Count' oprion -- that should appear tomorrow -- will make you ... count!

This is great. Having to count our own hands is awesome. And it is a good option for the beginners too, they need to know how to add those points. They will improve their game also. (I learned by my mother stealing my points lol) Thank you Webmaster and great suggestion Moojus.

by the way, I think that is called "muggins" when your pone misses points and you can steal them... I still think 3 player would be awesome... maybe non-rated.. .what is the harm??? There is no way for more than 2 friends to play at once... any other opinions on this?

3-player crib

Just like 5 card crib for some, in my household three player crib has been around for a while...it is a DIFFERENT game...especially 'cause you can't "trap" you opponent into a run . I think Cribbich suggestion is an excellent one... I'd play.... Purple-planet PS I realize this may be a programming nightmare however ....but I'm sure there's some computer whiz out there who could figure it out....

ok 2 cents
