This has happened to me on two occasions in the past few months. Of course the losing player bails right away so they cannot be questioned. This does not feel fair. Others? As many posts on this forum will explain to you, ratings are ultimately irrelevant, do not represent the skill level of the opponent, and can be easily manipulated by the player. Either play for ladder position, play for tix or play for fun. Don't play for rating points. They mean nothing. I've been here for 20 years. Take it from me, it will just frustrate you.
