Scoring system Posted by gr8dude (VIP) May 23 2007 7:59AM I agree with a previous post about the rating system simply for the following reasons. I am no master at the game of Backgammon but I can play a reasonable game (dice allowing), the problem is that if you lose 3 or 4 games on the trot (or 15 as has been known in the past :-)) your rating drops to 1200 or similar. that doesnt bother me too much, I've been up in the 1700's many times too, its just that if you join a player with a high rating and yours happens to be low at that point, they generally kick you off without a bye or leave, or the more polite players so 'no ty!'. If the win % was displayed aswell it would give a clearer indication of the players long term ability. To be abdolutely honest, if someone kicks me off a table due to my rating they should have the table as 'invite only' but if that is the way they feel I'd rather play the other 99% of players who play for the fun, challenge and friendship the site promotes.
