Just learned that an MIA player in a tourney with 15+ tickets is allowed 15 minutes to return.I really think thats too long ,it holds up the whole play(and players) If someone cant get back in 10min(or even 5) then he/she should be dropped. Ten

10 min per round wait missing in action - Continue with score prior to mia. You must notify me immediately as to when opp goes mia and when they return as this starts and stops the clock. (With the new TD tool that lets us know when a player disconnects it's not always necessary to alert the td but sometimes I have that nasty LAG with my dialup so never hurts. :) Long ago there WAS a rule for a 15 minute MIA for HR tourneys but that was replaced by the above ages ago.

Early times. :)

In our early days we had a longer acceptable MIA time in tournaments. About three years ago a ten minute MIA time was approved for all tournaments. The reason for changes include better connection time and re-connnection now available at GameColony that works great! With the new TD tools it is no longer necessary that the player notify the TD of his/her win either. The message tool will give the TD the exact time of the disconnect and that of the re-connect. A great benefit to both the TD and the players who are waiting. In the beginning 1999 and even later, many of our players had Win 95 and later 98 with dialup connection. The longer MIA time was only sensible. All changes in the rules are made to make things better for everyone. With better connection, better hardware, better software and a more upscale and reliable GC program, a ten minute MIA time per round is more than enough time for anyone except in the case of an power outage maybe or a personal emergency.

MIA Time

I was under the impression that high-rollers was 15 minutes and regular tourneys was 10. Personally, I think 10 is more than adequate for all MIA time. Even when at home on a dial-up, it is rare that it takes me more than 4 minutes even on a complete re-boot. Just my not so humble opinion. Bob 'Moojus' Milk

MIA time for all tourneys has been 10 min. for a couple of years. The tourney rules always include the MIA time. :)
