Ornate vs classic pieces

Ornate vs classic pieces

Should the classic pieces be defaulted? I wonder if anyone uses the ornate ones, because the queen and the king look almost the same. Sometimes the site doesn't remember my preferences and I have to change them all over again.

Ornate is much better

This is of course the standard pieces used and i can clearly clarify the difference. I havent tried the classic set up, the pieces looked a bit odd to me

I agree with mr_aleman. Ornate pieces give a nice colour to the game. I prefer ornate. It is more beautiful than the standard classical pieces you see in books and magazines. Ornate definately.

Matter of taste

I prefer classic, but it is merely a matter of personal preference.

I prefer Ornate.

I agree with mr aleman and apolonion. Not only does it look nicer but it is easier to distinquish pieces wich does make a difference in in 1/0 and 2/0 games. Its kinda like comparing black and white t.v.s to colored ones...

I am used to play with ornate pieces. Its just a habit i think. <br>A reason to use the ornate pieces: they are more beautiful than the classic one's.

My guess is more people use the ornate, they look so much more like a real Chess set
