Never thought.....

I haven't logged into the forum for a long time and just before bed I thought I would see the latest and saw wonderful notes for those who lost loved ones. I never thought of posting a note here but realize I can let it out also as my dad passed away recently and I think of him often. He thought he would live to 100 and took great care, had great eating habits and walked regularly. But, lymphoma hit and once in the bloodsteam it was dagnosed too late to save him. Although he lived to 80 he didn't look it until this disease struck with a mighty hand. He struggled for a year and a half but with the family at his bedside. It is done but we think of him often. He played in weddings since we were children for over 50 years and although he didn't hear it, our daughter sang AveMarie at his funeral to the joy of all family and friends. He never got to hear her sing since we are a long way from home. Our youngest son played violin at the funeral and eldest said a wonderful speech. We shall never forget...

A sad occasion turned into a great memory and my mom back home still says people talk about his granddaughter singing. Bittersweet is the best we can do when our time comes. Ty

Charmed I am so very sorry about your Daddy. He was a blessed man to have such a loving family. It is so very difficult for a family when illness hits and takes a loved one away. You know of my illness- my children live with this pain every day and I live with their pain. God bless you sweetie and God bless your father. Hugs ddsmom (Sharon)
