Everything costs!

Let's have two separate tourneys, at the same time. One for ratings of under 1500, and one for ratings over 1501!

non-vip tourneys???

The reason for not having non-VIP tournaments is that it would be too overwhelming.

What I have been lead to believe is that there can only be a max., 32 players in any tournament within Game Colony. Now if that holds water then, how would it be fair for only 32 non-VIP players to play and not the other 1,000+ players.

What I am trying to explain is . . . . There would be players upset if, they could not play in a tournament that required NO TICKETS and there would be a lot.

At any given time during the EDT hours of 10 am to 10 PM there are as many as 50 players in the pool room. Who would be the one to say who could play and who could not? Since there are only 32 tournament playing spots.

If I need to be corrected or if I am wrong about the Max. Players per tournament, please reply.

Thnx Game Colony!

This is a Wonderful Game Site!

Non-ticket players

Good questions and ideas have been brought up, let me see if can address some of them.

1. Any tounament at Game Colony, is listed to the FIRST 32 players that sign up, which is why we ask that you sign up early. This is why, in the rules, it states, that if you are not in the room 5 minutes prior to any tourney, the TD has the discretion to out any players not in the room, to give the opportunity for 'waiting' players to join.

2. Non-ticket players, are sometimes minors, therefore unable to play ANY tourney at Game Colony, which is why ONLY ticket players are eligible to play, being over the age of 21.

3. Tourneys for players with ratings under 1500 and tourneys for players over 1501.
a. when you have a tourney, that excludes certain players, such as those with ratings under 1500, THEY MUST ME NO LADDER TOURNEYS.
And the same would apply to tourneys with ratings over 1501.
b. Since most players play in tourneys to gain ladder points, NON-LADDER tourney play, gives ONLY participation in a tourney for fun, and since tourney players MUST be ticket players, only tickets would be won.
c. NO LADDER AND NON RATED TOURNEYS are available for 'approved' variations in any game.

I hope I have answered so questions for players.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
