Tournament suggestion

The formats are great with one suggestion. It makes a mockery of player records to have a 3 player tournament called a tournament and a single win after a bye to the finals being valued the same as a tournament win when all other tournaments require a minimum of 2 wins and as many as 5 or 6 wins before you get credit for a tournament win. I think that all tournaments should have a minimum of 4 players to be legitimately called a tournament and recorded as such. If there are only 3 players that are available to play then the TD may join and be the 4th to run this tournament. He/she retains his/her commission for setting and arranging and pays the entry fee as a player would. This thus adds credibility to a tournamnet win and also means at least two wins to win a tournament. It also means bigger prize money, a first and second place. The TD's duties can be perfomred easily with only one other game to be concerned with in the first round. In no other instance can a hosting TD participate in their own tournament. Only after waiting an extra minute with ony 3 players present does this option become possible. If a 4th player joins before the entry room is closed the TD cannot participate.
Consider this for the improvement of the tournament values and a much fairer % chance to win for all players concerned. A bye to the finals is such a huge advantage and is simply a lucky draw and not earned in any way. The TD playing rectifies this problem.
I am interested in your reply and any objections to that. As well, I would like to hear all the TD's opinion on this suggestion --good or bad.
Thank you.

Always such a pleasure to view suggestions. You can be sure they are always well received. As far as the WTA tourney is concerned some really want them. The choice is always left to those three players. There is absolutely no offense if one player votes 'no'. In the beginning all tourney with fewer than four players were cancelled. It was due to players request that WTA was 'created'.
Now for the td joining his/her own tournament. Can you imagine the reaction of some players if the director won the tourney?
The solution for this issue is simple. Given some time these tournaments will grow. We have an increasing number of players 'discovering' GameColony and our magnificant Canasta game. Soon they will try the tournaments and want to play them. You have already helped that process by helping to spread the word, Star.. Thanks so much.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
