Anybody get this message? I just played someone who said I typed it, and I did not. Then it showed up on my screen. No time had elapsed. Anyone got a clue?

'Please Move' message is sent by the server to a player whose time-per-move is about to expire
You have got to be kidding!

I have had people get mad at me!!! They have asked BRB or whatever, I've said fine, then they come back and think I've been rude. This message of 'please move' definatly should state that it is coming from gamecolony not from the opponet. I'd also like to know why it only happens occasionaly, there are numerous times that even the time expires and not a 'please move' appears on screen???? I seriously would like a reply.

We'll make > lease Move message to show in different color.
Regarding when the message appears...there are 2 issues here: (1) The times that you see displayed are your local time-related - this is for your reference only. The real time spent is determined by the server. At times when connection from your location to GameColony servers is slow, there is a visible difference in local time spent & server time spent.
(2) For the first 3 times after time-per-move expires, the player who let his/her time-per-move expire keeps receiving warnings. During these 3 times this player, however, gets some additional time. After the 3rd time-per-move expiration, no additional time is given. Occasionally, however, it may take up to additional 15 seconds on the part of the server to act regarding time-per-move expiration.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
