Disconnecting

I hate to keep complaining about this issue. I sort of understand now why people are resigning when it is obvious they will lose, I don't agree with it and think it is bad manners, but at least I see why they are doing it. But...this issure of disconnecting is getting out of hand. I have played in gin for years and although it is a problem, it is worse in canasta. I'm not that great of a player so when I have a win, it is rewarding...but to have someone leave you with the choice of win, abort or wait it kind of takes away the 'moment'. Is there not some way to curb this or at least make the wait a little shorter? I am not talking about the true disconnections, you can usually tell the difference, I'm talking about the obvious 'I'm going to lose, so click out of there' people. Maybe there could be a box that you check when you are setting up your table like thee is for game time, options, etc., that states you agree to a loss or don't agree if disconnected???? What do you think???
Why wouldn't this be possible?

Nobody has responded to this and maybe it is a simple technical reason, but why would it not be possible to add a feature that gives you the choice when you open a table to agree or not agree to forfeit the game if disconnected? Or at least agree to a shorter time period? I understand that many players have connection problems, but I also realize many do not. I also believe that it is only a game and many of us just want to play....Not Wait. I would be more than willing to forfiet a game now and again to not wait the way I have been.

In $Ticket-heavy games (Gin & Backgammon) (and especially for $Ticket games) GameColony has implemented functionality that decreases the waiting period when the losing party disconnects prematurely. This functionality was added without the use of the proposed [illogical & confusing to users] table option of decreasing waiting upon disconnection across the board. The same functionality will be gradually added for other GameColony games in order of priority.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
