Poor Sportsmanship

On three back to back occasions today I had three different players do what I feel is poor sportsmanship. At the end of a lengthy well thoughtout and played game just when I finally took the pile (and in all 3 cases, it could have been either one of us it just depended on who ran out of ammo first) two players asked me to abort, over and over and the 3rd player resigned and left. No gg, ty, anything. I mentioned in the chat screen to all (without stating the players names)that I thought it was rude to resign or abort at the very end of a long game just because you will lose. After typing that I had feedback that stated that they would also resign if lossing because it saves time. I myself have had to resign games, but I never would just because I was losing. One of the players even asked me for another game after wanting to resign. This room hasn't been open for long, and at the beginning everyone was helping everyone, we all knew that that would stop, and maybe I was brought up differtly but I felt it was not only rude but a waste of my time.
many are nice

I just usually try to think of it as not knowing any better. I have had the same experience and think it shouldn't be so hard to say gg or thanks or at least g'bye. Maybe as they see others being polite and good sports they will start to respond. Hope so.. keep up with the sportsmanship shark.. maybe it will ruboff on others.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
